This is where you can access ideas and resources for helping your school learn about and implement the 12 Core Practices of Bright Futures;

 

MLTI Webinar series for Principals: MLTI is pleased to announce a five-part webinar series aimed at bringing MLTI principals together for lively and informative conversations about what works and the challenges of implementing, sustaining, and moving 1:1 ahead in their schools.  Research and experience from the field has established the absolute importance of strong, collaborative, visionary leadership when implementing school change.

 

The series will be hosted by former Freeport Middle School Principal and DOE/MLTI Consultant, Chris Toy.  A number of special guests including project directors, school principals, as well as district and statewide technology integrators will co-host each webinar with him.

 

These once a month webinars are scheduled for 4:00 PM on the last Tuesday of each month: February 23, March 30, April 27, May 25, and June 22 (June is an exception due to the end of the school year).  Each one hour session will be recorded and made available, along with downloadable resources, for those who cannot attend all the live sessions.

 

February 23 - The principal's role in creating - Management and policies.

March 30 -  The principal's role in Modeling, Pushing, and Supporting Visionary Change

April 27 -  The principal's role in Identifying 21st century learning and Advocating for it

May 25 - The Principal and Educational Technology Leader Team's role in teaching and learning

June 22 - The Principal's role in Defining and Supporting Digital Citizenship for all Stakeholders

Webcasts: Chris Toy and Jill Spencer are doing a series of DOE-sponsored interactive webcasts focused on the content of Bright Futures. These webcasts are live and recorded for later listening. All the information is located on the page Save These Dates. Just click and go.  The URLs for the recorded versions are also on this page. Information about the webcasts can also be found at http://www.maine.gov/education/ml/ These webcasts might be used as prompts for conversations during faculty meetings or professional development days.

 

Meeting Plans:   Each webcast will explore several of the 12 Core Practices and have an accompanying “meeting plan” that school leaders can use or adapt to facilitate faculty meetings, conversations, or study groups looking at the Core Practices.
